This tent was made in the USA, with a handwritten tag naming it a "Clipper," but this is definitely not the commonly found newer Clipper! Add a rainfly or cover tarp to make it a backpacking or expedition style tent. Note, though, that with the door and window zipped up, there is no exposed screen. Design seems wind resistant.
Has a unique set up, with one long ridge pole which you pass through two black joining pieces as it goes through the breaks in the pole sleeves. It's a little rough in places to slide the black joiners because the pole sections have rough spots at the edges but with a little working, we got it through fine. (It is something I think could be smoothed out if you desire.) Then, the other four curved aluminum poles slide up through sleeves and fit into the black piece, just make sure they are all the way in before you release so the pole ends don't get cracked or bent. One pole already met this fate, and has a small crack at an end (freshly wrapped with Gorilla tape to reinforce). The fit is tight.
There is an old tent smell, and a few of the mesh pole sleeves had come unstitched and have been re-sewn at the ends with clear nylon thread (see pic with finger tip pointing to one of the repairs). There are typical spots (but nothing terribly obtrusive) and typical dirt and debris. There is an original pole bag, but not a carry bag. There are two extra aluminum pole sections but I'm not sure if they go with the tent or not. More pics available upon request.
