Antique Nickel-Plated Public School City of New York Doorknob c1890
The Public School of New York doorknob was produced by a number of the Big Five hardware makers of the late 19th century. Used in the public schools in New York City, they are increasingly difficult to find. This one is cast brass with nickel plating and has light wear to the face and a couple of dings on the sides. The nickel plating is quite unusual to find in this knob, making it especially collectible.
Antique Public School City of New York Doorknob measures 1 5/8" by 2 3/8". Shaft is round with a 3/8" threaded opening.
