New switch covers are white with black lettering (top picture). Old switch covers are yellowed with black lettering (bottom picture). Switch covers for Klixon toggle switches, typically found in Mooney aircraft. These are NOT for ETA toggle switches. See the pictures for examples of the differences between Klixon and ETA switches. These switch covers are printed from Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS). ABS is a high temperature plastic that can withstand high temperatures found in aircraft cockpits and is used extensively for aircraft trim pieces by OEM manufacturers (Cessna, Piper, Mooney).
These snap on and do not require any adhesive, just like the original. Glue and Velcro are often found in between the old, broken covers and the switch pad. These must be removed for a good fit.
