American hardwoods used in this board are:

Black Walnut, Hard Maple, Cherry, White Oak, Curely Maple

The hardness of the wood is based on the standard Janka system and are:  Black Walnut - 1010, Hard Maple - 1450, Cherry - 1480, White Oak - 1350, Curely Maple - 1450.

The boards are coated with food safe Howard Cutting Board Oil and Conditioner.  As with all natural wood products, it is recommended to reapply an oil and conditioner from time to time to ensure the continuous beauty and longevity of the board.
