The socket does not have a date code. Date codes didn’t start until 1927 so exact dating is impossible. Marked Snap On 1/2 No-416. Made in USA is punched into the knurling. The drive surfaces are sharp, still a very usable socket. The finish is dark and uneven, very much normal for a socket this old. Chrome plating just wasn’t as good as it is today so most of the darkness is from chrome loss. However there still is some chrome on the inside and outside.
