1966 Harley Davidson FLH Electra Glide 1st Year Shovelhead Collectors Bike in the Original Sparkling Burgundy Paint. The North Carolina title is clear correct and in my name. First Off This Bike Is Not Being Sold Through eBay's Secure Purchase! I spoke with them at eBay Motors and they told me to state this in my listing and it was perfectly fine to sell this way just to let buyers know that they will be dealing me me directly. The deposit is fine to send through eBay but not the balance. When you are listing and car or motorcycle they no longer have the choice to select as a seller like they used to on the listings. This bike you are required to pay in person upon pick up if you are picking it up in Wilmington NC in person or if not must be by Certified Check mailed shortly a day or 2 after hitting the buy it now or by a Wire or Bank Transfer. If you are not ready to purchase and have money in hand please do not hit the buy it now or put in any offers. Shipping is perfectly fine but it is up to you to arrange and pay for but I will assist in anyway that I can. International bidders are perfectly fine as well, I have sold a bunch of old Panheads and Shovelheads all over the world and ship a lot of bikes to Ryu at Interline Shipping for Japanese buyers and Australian buyers. Now hopefully that is clear and if not and you are worried about anything at all please hold off on this one and do not hit the buy it now or put in any offers. Thanks in advance I am looking for a serious buyer for this special piece out of my personal collection. I am unfortunately for me fortunate for you currently leaning out my collection before an up coming move in June. This is a special bike I bought for the original owners family. This was only owned by one owner and was purchased new in Tennessee and lived its life there since 1966. Original owner unfortunately passed it was left to his brother but he did not ride but was a motor head and kept it running and cranking while he owned it just never rode it. When I stumbled on this I had sold my long time 66 and really regretted it right after the sale and when a friend of mine called me about this one I immediately bought it after laying my eyes on it and the condition and originality. The bike is extremely original and the engine and transmission are gorgeous engine is extremely nice no broken fins, no case repairs and they are perfect shape as well as the heads as well and runs like a top with zero smoke or noises as well as the transmission it shifts perfectly and brakes work as should, the original inner and outer primary cover are also in perfect condition, along with the front end and brakes all look amazing, electric start works flawlessly, also has kick start. The frame is immaculate with zero pitting or rubs it truly is in perfect shape as well as all the original sheet metal I do not think it has a single dent anywhere on either of the tanks or fenders they are in perfect shape. The original gas tanks are a one year only tank with the petcock on the right side. The paint on all the sheet metal is original and is Sparkling Burgundy which is my favorite color in old Harley's and they are now very collectible. Back in 66 so many were painted over black that now people including myself collect them and are much rarer than the other colors and especially black. I also own a 1970 FLH in the same color and am unfortunately also going to let that go as well. The paint condition is very good as you can see on the back edge of the birch white panel he extended the panel to mimic the 1967 paint scheme but luckily he did it himself and painted over the original paint. I really think this would be easy to remove by the right guy if one wanted you can still see the original 66 pin stripe under and the paint that was added is starting to flake a pinch and I think it would come right off by someone qualifed and the original will be under it. It is just in that small section of the paint, everything else is original and untouched and in amazing condition. The brother told me when the 1967's came out his brother loved the 67 tank paint scheme and had no plans to ever sell the bike and just did it because he loved it ands was never going to sell it and he never did. Everything is original including speedometer, handlebars ect. only things I see are the mufflers are newer and have been replaced and the seat is OEM but I believe is a later Shovelhead seat but looks just like the original would have and it is in really good shape. This bike would be very easy to put back 100% original with only a few changes and this would easily be a mid 20's bike in my opinion due to the condition or ready to be judged by AMCA. Saddlebags are original has added chrome rails on the lids, also has some added lights on the back that look great to me. I just put in one of the new $200 Scorpion AGM batteries that they just started making not too long ago with higher cranking amps. I had previously put one in my 1970 FLH and have really liked it so far you can tell a difference as well as fresh fluids and oil filter that now only has a mile or two on it. All this bike needs is a owner that will get it back out in the wild and ride it. Please view all of the photos very carefully for the exact condition as they are the description and only description. I think I have mentioned everything I can think of if you have any questions feel free to reach out to me and I will get right back to you. Please have money in hand ready to transfer before hitting the Buy It Now or putting any offer on it. I feel I have put a very reasonable price on the bike for what it is but Please Do Not Place Any Offers Unless You Are Ready To Buy And Know What You Are Buying. If you put in any sort of offer make sure you are 100% sure you are buying the bike if accepted and are ready to transfer the funds and ready to come get it or start arranging shipping. If not ready to transfer the money please do not hit the buy it now and please also ask any questions you may have before hitting the buy it now or sending me any offers. I accept cash in person if picking it up, certified checks from any major bank I bank with Bank Of America and Wells Fargo for easy wire transfers if that is how you plan on paying and for international buyers. I have a clear correct title in my name ready to priority mail to you or hand to you depending on if you are picking it up or shipping. Thanks in advance and please ask any and all questions before hitting the buy it now. I have sold a lot of motorcycles and parts on eBay and have a lot of happy customers and this Harley should certainly make another. I require a $300 non refundable deposit via PayPal through eBay paid within the first 24 hrs. of the auctions end and the balance is due within the week. The balance must be paid via cash in person, certified check or bank transfer. If you are paying certified check I prefer a Bank Of America or Wells Fargo certified check but am open to others but if at all possible please get one of this two as they will clear quicker for pick up. PayPal is Not Accepted for final payment at all. If you are having the bike shipped that is totally fine and expected for most people but you must arrange and pay for it and please if you are shipping get on arranging it in a timely manner after the close of auction. International bidders are also totally fine with me and have sold many bikes overseas through the years just please stick by the same time frames on payment and pick up and or shipping. I realize may take a bit for truck to arrive but please start arranging shortly after payment. The bike is located in Wilmington NC. If you have any questions feel free to send me a message and I will get back to you. If you require ground shipping I highly recommend Daily Direct/Haul Bikes they are the only company I ever use and you can get a quote before you hit the buy it now to know exactly what it will cost you from zip code 28411. If in the states typically around $650 will get it anywhere and they are a very good and reliable from my past experience(they picked up 2 from me last week) and know how to handle bikes but that is up to you to decide you may have a company you use or prefer. If you have any questions do not hesitate to ask and obviously ask before hitting the buy it now! Wilmington NC is a great place to visit and pick up the motorcycle of your dreams.
