The 1980 FXEF Fat Bob carved its own niche in the early 80s. Less flashy than a Low Rider but more substantial than a Super Glide, it offered a classic "big Harley" aesthetic—perfect for riders who wanted presence and practicality. As the original HD ad proclaimed, "Stump pulling muscle never goes out of style. Fat Bob is 80 cubic inches of heavy equipment. We call it a street bike but it's also an express-way into the open road world of Harley. It's more than a machine."

This numbers-matching Shovelhead was fully restored around 2015 to rresemble a 1977-1978 Lowrider as close as possible and has seen sporadic use since. 

Recently we rebuilt the stock carb, installed a correct "HamCan" air filter housing along with a new air filter, swapped monkey bars handlebars to a lowrider drag bars and installed OEM factory seat. 

It rides, shifts, and stops as it should, with both front and rear tires in excellent condition and effective brakes. You won't find major oil leaks from the motor or tranny; a few drops from the original wet primary are normal for these classic Shovels. The blued header pipe, a swap meet find, couldn't be re-chromed. This often happens due to its thin walls and lack of heat shields.

The tachometer works sporadically, a common issue for these 1970-1980 models. Replacements are readily available and affordable on eBay.
