Up for sale is a Harley Davidson WLA Type VII motorcycle that is in good restored but "used" (ridden) condition. I am a motivated seller so please feel free to submit reasonable offers because I am willing to negotiate a sale price for the right buyer. And please contact me for further information at 703.295.2948 and I would be happy to answer any questions. I require a deposit of 10% of the agree-upon purchase price to be paid to me through the eBay selling platform. Then, I will require the balance of the purchase price to be sent to me via wire transfer to my Wells Fargo Bank Account or mailed to me via a certified bank check (not a "money order"). Once the motorcycle is fully paid for, I would be happy to mail the buyer the signed title and work with them to arrange for shipping (this would include shipping of 1or 2 boxes of the accessories that are included with the sale of the motorcycle - most shippers will not take boxes of accessories with the motorcycles they ship).
I love this motorcycle and the accessories I am selling with it, and I am only selling it for medical reasons (recent hip replacement) and I am retiring soon; the money will go towards retirement home improvements! I have a valid clear title to this motorcycle in my name and it is currently registered and insured for public road use in Virginia as an antique vehicle. Please read below for details about this motorcycle and the accessories I am selling with it, and see the photos for additional details as they serve as the primary description. I have a 100% POSITIVE eBay feedback after selling on this platform for over 20 years; I am honest and work for a federal law enforcement agency - I am not a scammer. I will work with the seller to arrange shipping from my home (buyer pays shipping costs) which is located in the eastern USA near Washington, DC and Interstate 95. But please note, all the items I have for sale are also listed for sale on other platforms and/or are for sale locally. Therefore, I reserve the right to end my listings here at any time without prior notice.
This bike runs but I do not have a current video of this motorcycle running. However, there is a video from October 2022 of this same motorcycle running right in front of my house posted with the photos (I can provide the dated video file by email if needed). The oil and gas were subsequently drained from the motorcycle because I knew I was undergoing surgery. And the battery has since gone dead (because I had surgery 1.5 years ago). I have not started the motorcycle since my surgery, but it has been stored in a warm and dry garage. And I did not refill with oil and gas because I knew I was going to sell it. The notable difference between the current photos and that video is that I took off the light-colored reproduction saddlebags and scabbard and replaced them with RARE ORIGINAL leather saddlebags and leather gun scabbard (the high quality replacement seat has been dyed to resemble the original saddlebags and scabbard). I have since sold the reproduction saddlebags and scabbard along with many other spare parts I had in my garage, and I am FINALLY ready to sell this WLA! This is a great item for a serious collector to purchase.
This WLA includes many of the ORIGINAL OEM parts including the original correct type II / late model / low mount ammo box, original leather saddlebags and gun scabbard (seat is replacement stained to match), the original frame, forks, engine, carburetor, transmission, oil and gas tanks, front and rear fenders, luggage rack, small original tool box mounted on the frame, etc. The style of the front fender (mudless type II), the VIN for this motorcycle, the deep water fording kit that has been installed, the radio suppression kit grounding wires, and other things I am forgetting - all reflect Type VII WLA features. The oil pump and tappet blocks are white like very early WLAs only because they were white NOS and it was decided to leave them that way. The VIN stamped on the engine and MATCHING belly numbers on this motorcycle engine are all authentic Harley Davidson, and match to reflect a motorcycle produced during August 1945. So, it's one of the last WLAs that was produced!
I have owned this motorcycle for about 9 years and purchased it after it had been completely restored. It was restored by a very well-known and long-time Harley Davidson WLA parts and motorcycle dealer, restorer, and publisher of WLA books. Subsequent to its purchase, I replaced some reproduction parts on it with original parts. I have a copy of the original title in his name that I had to turn in to the DMV when I titled the motorcycle in my name. Plus I have all the purchase paperwork and photos of the bike when I purchased it. The motor has about 200 miles on it (the speedometer was NOT reset to "0000" after rebuild) so the title shows the mileage when I purchased it and the current mileage on the speedometer is about 200 more miles than when I purchased it. Over the last ten years I periodically started the motorcycle and drove it around the neighborhood to keep it in running order.
There is a reproduction / mock Thompson .45 caliber sub-machine gun included with spare magazines. The tires, paint, wires and some other items are also reproduction, like mirrors and other small parts, as well as some of the nuts, bolts, etc. But this bike has many original parts and accessories to go with it, far more than modern "reproduction" WLAs which consist mostly of reproduction parts to include reproduction frames, motors, fenders, ammo boxes, etc...
Again, please contact me for further information at 703.295.2948 and I would be happy to answer any questions.
ALSO included in this sale are the following rare ORIGINAL accessories (this is a VERY expensive accessory package):
Original air pump and hose! All four (4) correct original operators manuals and parts manuals for a type 7 WLA per Palmer's 2nd Edition Military Harley Davidson Original large canvas tool roll with all correct original harley davidson military tool kit tools Original NOS spare parts roll with all correct original harley davidson military spare parts Original leg shields and bracket (bracket is installed on the motorcycle) Original US Army bed roll and original straps (which fit through the slots in the luggage rack) - was utilized by WLA riders Original envelope included with Type VII WLAs for export (to Russia) and the accompanying orignal assembly instructions, packing list for everything included in the crate for shipping, and pre-starting instructions, etc. ! Original TL-130 military gasoline torch to aid in cold weather starting Original military Thompson 45 caliber sub-machine gun ammunition pouch ( with reproduction ammo magazines) Original Map Template M-2 issued to WLA riders Original period correct heavy-duty chain and super-sized padlock from a military prison to lock this WLA securely!
***NOTE*** the rare vintage Harley Davidson Medium size special tools box shown in the first and last photos, with most of the original special tools inside it, is NOT NOT NOT automatically included with the sale of this motorcycle!!! I will only sell this "rear echelon" medium tool box together with the motorcycle if a reasonable price is negotiated for both items as part of a negotiated "BUNDLE" sale price for both items at the same time. I have listed this rare medium tool box separately at a premium price separately, so see my other items for sale for details. And, if the medium tool box sells at or close to my asking price before the motorcycle sells, then I obviously cannot negotiate a bundle price for both items.
This is a vintage item so please look at all the pictures and call 703.295.2948 to ask me any questions before you bid or buy, and I will try to answer them. And, please see my other listings for more vintage OEM Harley Davidson parts and accessories. But please note all my items are also available for sale by me locally on other platforms, so I reserve the right to end my listings here at any time. Thanks for looking! I am NOT a full-time eBay seller, this is just a hobby for me, but I have done my best to describe these items. So please see the photos (which are considered the bulk of the description), do your own research, and ask me any and all questions before you make an offer or purchase. Since this is a used antique motorcycle that is 80+/- years old, I do not offer a warranty or accept returns, which is typical for almost every used motor vehicle sold on eBay. However, please purchase with confidence because I have been selling on eBay for many years, have a 100% positive feedback score, and NEVER purposefully mis-represent any items I sell. Thanks for looking!
