This one of a kind gender neutral jacket features wool appliqués from a 1940s or 50s Mexican tourist jacket applied to a denim jacket with added hand embroidery. Most of the wool jackets from the period have stains or moth holes because of their age. Transferring the appliqués preserves their artistry and incorporates them into a more modern look. The appliqués are from a vintage jacket from the Mexican Berty shop. I have looked at the work by many makers and their appliqués stand out for their beautiful faces and details. They are the only ones whose men have hands (most avoid that by having them in pockets). I have removed the appliqués from the original jacket, hand washed them and sewn them on a Gap men’s size medium denim jacket. The last 4 images show details about the jacket from the Gap website. I have hand embroidered paths, grass and flowers around the two houses at the top front of the jacket. I have also added hand embroidered details to the button holes and to all 4 pockets. The result is a piece of unisex wearable art. It is a perfect jacket for a man or woman who appreciates a vintage aesthetic or hand crafted design. See the photos for size details. Please enlarge the photos to better appreciate the details on the jacket. If you need a different size, please message me about creating a custom jacket. I cannot replicate a design exactly but can do something in the same vein.

I made this jacket as a companion to my Uniqlets jewelry line.
