HARLEY-DAVIDSON 1969 XLCH SPORTSTER with unknown miles. Unique in the Sportster world as it's the last year for the true XLCH; Last year for the short wheelbase frame & swingarm, (approx. 2" shorter than the later Sportster chassis most people know), Last year for magneto ignition, Last year for the skinny stamped steel primary cover and final year for H-D's old serial number system. Not to mention PRICELESS that this XLCH has matching 1969 'belly' numbers with a clean, original and unaltered VIN and matching title! A 1964 XLCH engine alone without a title sold recently here on eBay for $2000! This XLCH could be parted out for more than my Buy-it-Now price! There are no returns for any reason.
The cycle is a ROLLING BASKETCASE which local legend XR Eddie traded to me for work on his XR1000's over 20 years ago. He picked it up at a swap meet with a flat rear tire. It still has a flat rear tire. It doesn't leak oil. There's no oil in it. This XLCH has been buried in the back of my garage all of these years. I intended to restore or at least get it back on the road. That never happened so it's time for a new owner. The cycle is a D.I.Y. that needs to be taken apart and started over again. You'll go broke paying a cycle shop to get it on the road so a buyer will need to know what he or she is doing. Just what you wanted to do this winter! There are no returns for any reason.
As can be noticed, the transmission corner has been replaced and appears as a quality repair though the transmission will need to be properly set-up and re-aligned during restoration. The engine turns over with compression. I noticed the rear engine mount is the early cast steel item! There are no broken cylinder or cylinder head fins. There were some missing parts which I've scared up and are now included but not installed. NOW INCLUDED; The entire primary drive including the clutch, motor sprocket & primary chain and kick starter parts. No doubt there still may be some small parts missing. This is a D.I.Y.! No extra charge for the skull on the nacelle! There are no returns for any reason.
