Up for auction, and your consideration, is this Coleman Model 200A Lantern!
NOTE: Please read all of the text in the description!
The Coleman Company produced the Model 200/200A from 1950 until 1983. The lantern in this auction was made in October of 1962. Model 200A lanterns during this period are know as "dark cherry red", to Coleman collectors, due to the darker color than the usual red. It has been speculated that Coleman received the vent in this darkened color and, rather than have them redone, Coleman just matched the fount paint to the vents. These darker red lantern came out shortly after the burgundy 200As.
The 200A in this auction has been completely disassembled. The burner frame was in very poor condition so it has been treated in high heat (1350 degree) Chromex that closely resembles the coating that Coleman used during this era. The paint on the fount is in excellent condition but does have minor chips near the bottom rim. The vent is near perfect condition. The lantern retains an era correct red letter Coleman globe that has one noticeable burn mark on it.
Upon reassembly, the lantern received a new fuel cap gasket. The pump leather has been oiled. It pumps up and holds pressure. It has also been fueled. When the valve wheel is opened, there is the familiar hiss and gurgle of a working lantern. A copy of the operating instructions will be included in the auction.
Please note: As hard as we try to get the check valve cleaned up, they may sometimes still leak unless the valve stem is closed, as Coleman literature states.
This lantern is ready to go on your next camping, hunting or fishing trip. The lantern could also be handy in case of emergencies!
Oh! It has been tested and it works as good as it looks!

PACKING: We pack your items the same way we would want to receive them. That is, we pack to minimize any chance of breakage. Lanterns are disassembled of globe, vent and bail handle. The globe is bubble wrapped and then placed in a coffee can or separate carton before being placed in the shipping carton. All other pieces are bubble wrapped and all voids are packed with suitable light weight material so that all parts are immobilized inside the shipping carton.
Fuel will be emptied from all lanterns & stove before shipping!

PLEASE NOTE! Due to items being damaged with combined shipping, we will combine only TWO won items per shipping carton!!
We use USPS Parcel Select for the majority of our domestic shipping. However, with the Postal Service now using more dimensional weight, we may use FedEx or UPS for ground shipping if it will save a buyer some dollars. International shipping is via Priority Mail International. Of course, if your item is within First Class weight limitations, we will ship First Class Mail. We will combine shipping when possible, but no more than two won items per carton! Please feel free to email us for a shipping estimate. We try to ship your item within 24 hours of received payment.
NOTE: Since we do use PayPal and eBay shipping, it is impossible for us to change the final price of an auctioned item. We are sorry, but we are unable to falsify any final sales price to avoid tariffs or other fees.
