The Coleman company made the Model 220 series of lantern from the late 1920s to 1983. When a design change was made, Coleman added a letter suffix to the model number. The 220 in this auction is a 220D and was made in the second half of 1950. For being 75 years old, it's in pretty good condition.

The nickel plating on the fount is decent with some blemishes and speckling pits. The vent is nice perfect with just a large chip on the lower edge. Burner frame shows tarnish from use.

This 220D has been completely disassembled and all parts cleaned or replaced as needed. Upon reassembly, it received a new fuel cap gasket and generator. The pump leather has been oiled. That lantern has been fueled. It pumps up and holds pressure. When the valve wheel is opened, there is the familiar hiss and gurgle of a working lantern. The lantern has a white letter replacement globe. This 220D has been tested for several hours and it works great!

PACKING: We pack your items the same way we would want to receive them. That is, we pack to minimize any chance of breakage. Lanterns are disassembled of globe, vent and bail handle. The globe is bubble wrapped and then placed in a coffee can or separate carton before being placed in the shipping carton. All other pieces are bubble wrapped and all voids are packed with suitable light weight material so that all parts are immobilized inside the shipping carton.

Fuel will be emptied from all lanterns & stove before shipping!

SHIPPING: PLEASE NOTE! Due to items being damaged with combined shipping, we will combine only TWO won items per shipping carton!!

We use UPS Ground or USPS for the majority of our domestic shipping. International shipping is via Priority Mail International or, if less expensive, we may ship via UPS. Of course, if your item is within First Class weight limitations, we will ship First Class Mail. We will combine shipping when possible, but no more than two won items per carton! Please feel free to email us for a shipping estimate. We try to ship your item within 24 hours of received payment.
