1973 Harley Davidson Sportster XLH 1000, Matching numbers. Electric start starts easily. I have the original carb (Bendix), tach, speedo (8.6k miles), dash panel, handlebars/switches, seat, and turn signals. Bike starts right up and goes anywhere; handles great. New parts: Precision Machine front caliper, new front brake hydraulic lever assembly, new braided line, simplified wiring, kill switch, new ignition switch, new nostalgia grips, new stainless mirrors, new fork seals/oil, mid left side start button, 1yr old NAPA AGM mat battery no vent, new voltage regulator, new primary chain and clutch, new clutch lever/cable, new rear Diamond drive chain, newer plugs/points/condenser, new seat, new heavy duty Kustom Chrome kickstand, and a new tail light lens. Engine is timed and valves are adjusted, fresh oil and filter (PennGrade 50W oil), new fuel filter, great S&S Super B has the correct jets in it for easy starting and smooth running at any speed. Clutch and trans work perfectly, easy to find neutral. OIL and GEN lights work. Original generator, new regulator, charges battery perfectly. Exhaust is excellent condition, chrome nice cond., baffled mufflers are fairly loud, exhaust is mounted firmly. Doesn't leak oil, one drop after a ride from countershaft sprocket area, prob drip from chain. Drive chain oiled every other ride. Engine is not oily, except underneath, could use degreasing and cleaning. Wheels are good, front rim some rust typical spot, rear rim is very good, but spokes need good cleaning/polishing; they would improve. Great tires 80% left. Built the bike to be dependable everyday rider, not to be perfect or show bike. Paint is my nonprofessional paint job, it is auto paint, good but not perfect, has some touched up small spots. Bike has a nice look, overall, isn't perfect but it is like you don't have to worry about it. The bike is super easy to work on; every part is easily available at a reasonable cost. If you don't like the chrome button seat, I have the same seat just like it without buttons, will swap out. When I started on this bike, speedo showed 8,600mi, bike was fairly stock looking. I've had a few Ironheads and this is the best running/handling one I've had. Too many bike/car projects; would like to sell this one. Might deliver, if close. Buyer pays shipping. Can forward additional pictures.
