COLEMAN MODEL 249 KEREOSENE LANTERN MADE IN USA IN SEPTEMBER OF 1954 WITH BOX
According to the International Coleman Collector Club's book, Guide to Vintage Coleman Items 1900 to 1983, the Model 249 Scout was produced in the USA from 1947 to 1958. The one in this auction was made in September of 1954. For being nearly 75 years old, it's not in too bad of condition.The nickel on the fount is fair with some haziness on the finish. The vent, for being on a kerosene lantern is in very nice condition with minor imperfections on very top as shown. The burner frame shows light use. Purchased from the original owner who said he used it about 5 or 6 times since it was new. Has the original box as shown. Has original wrench, No. 0 funnel with perfect blue filter, a NOS mantle and an older empty mantle package, also the cup with green cover.
This "Scout" has been cleaned as it has been in storage for roughly 40 years. The lantern retains the original correct green letter Coleman logo rising sun Pyrex globe in perfect condition.
