This is a Coleman 242C lantern date stamped 7-11, which means it was made November 1947.  It was used and stamped "FS" twice on the lower rim, by the U.S. Forest Service.  One stamp is clear, the other not as clear. 

When I discovered the FS stamps, I did not take it apart or clean it much. It came from western Montana where there are many National Forests, and many remote cabins where these were likely used by field crews.

It pumps up, holds pressure. It lights up easily and runs bright.  The glass globe has a partial Crack in it so I can't guarantee that will survive shipping. The vent is nice, with no chips on one side. The other side has big chips in the porcelain.  It seems to be all original, US made.

I will purge all the fuel and pack k carefully, so it can be shipped most anywhere.
