Recently found this instrument in my local pawn shop. It was expensive, but I was not going to leave it behind.

Comments:

1. The single coil, single pickup is not super loud.

2. If you look carefully at photo's there is evidence of a green paint (Oxidized Sonic Blue?) under the black. (I did not remove pickguard to investigate) I have heard that at the Fender factory, when a custom color paint job failed QC, bodies were put back on the line and painted black.

3. I married the instrument to a hard case I happened to have in stock. I think the case is from the 1960's, but it is a bass case made for a narrow body instrument like Mustang/Duo Sonic.

5. Look at photo of pickguard. It is damaged at the screw hole. Stressed by output jack.

6. Serial Number S838725 - Comes out of the SN Database as 1978. I popped the neck looking for a date stamp but found nothing. There is a sticker in the neck pocket with the same serial number as the headstock.
