Handmade Upcycled Bikini Eco Repurposed Swimwear Floral Summer Women S/M Adjstbl

This is an upcycled bathing suit; it was swimwear and is still swimwear! I made a bikini from an extra large suit that was saved from the thrift store discard bin, no idea why no one ever bought it with this beautiful floral print!

I had a goal of making at least two new suits from the original material and therefore I utilized every bit that I possibly could, while still keeping the integrity of the workmanship as well as sophistication. You'll see repurposed straps and seams as well as lining and ruching.

This garment has been thoughtfully upcycled, giving new life to an existing garment and reducing textile waste—perfect for anyone who loves unique fashion with a more sustainable story.

In retail manufacturing there is generally a uniqueness to swimwear materials which may not be present in this specific bikini, (ie. fast-drying, high elasticity, chlorine/saltwater resistance, etc.) as my process is quite different. My goal is to create sustainability in fashion and therefore unworn & unwanted garments become a common starting point. Although I always choose high quality garments with most of the necessary swimwear characteristics, there may be an absent element or two in the makeup of the fabric herein.

Please note that each item is handmade from usually preowned materials, which means slight defects in color, stitching, and material are natural and part of its unique character. These small imperfections are a hallmark of handcrafted work and make every piece one-of-a-kind. Thank you for supporting handmade!
