JUSTRITE OILY RAG WASTE CAN - 1930'S - JUSTRITE MFG. CO., CHICAGO - MADE IN USA
This auction is for a vintage 1930's industrial oily rag waste can. It is marked " No. 1 ". Underneath, there is a gold plaque which reads: " UNDERWRITERS LABORATORIES INC. INSPECTED WASTE CAN. No. 756721 ". Another brass tag on top handle says Conn. dept of education. This can was owned by the Connecticut school system. Painted letters are faded but reads " JUSTRITE OILY WASTE CAN. APPROVED SAFETY PRODUCT ". Next line reads, " PAT. NO. 1754802, MADE IN U.S.A. Next line reads, " EMPTY EVERY NIGHT ". Lastly, at the bottom it is stamped " JUSTRITE MFG. CO. CHICAGO, U.S.A. " The can is made of galvanized metal with a unique metal foot pedal which lifts the lid. Works Great !Unit has some vintage wear but is a survivor ! It is complete and solid with no holes. It's in original condition and has a really nice vintage look to it!! This can is approximately 18" high and 12" in diameter. Please see all photos .
