This amazing little 1941 Indian 741 Scout has survived the last 80 plus years really well! Aside from a few small changes from stock, it is all there. Seems like it was civilianized at some point many years ago with skirts in the front fender with what I can only assume are the old owner's initials "HEC" seen elsewhere n the bike.
Not sure how long it sat, but when I got it I put a modern style float in the Linkert carburator along with cleaning and gaskets, a new battery, and fresh fluids and it fired up! These old flatheads seem to always wanna run!
According to the amp gauge it is charging, it is still 6 Volt as Indian intended. It was missing a muffler when I got it and a friend had a really nice original which is hard to find! I have ridden this gem around the neighborhood a bunch and it seems more fun to ride than I thought a 741 would be! Oh, it even has matching frame and engine numbers which seems rare for an old Indian these days.
It still has old tires on it and the cool Military air box. Could use a set of grips and a shift knob, but not really missing anything else aside from the Corbin speedo which looks to have been gone for years.
I personally would enjoy it the way it is, but I guess that is not up to me once I sell it. Even has some of the original leather on the saddle seat. The old mismatched saddle bags are still stuffed with newspaper from 1979...that was 46 years ago...
Sold as-is. It is an 800 plus year old motorcycle. Please ask questions before bidding, ask your wife if you can buy it...no refunds! Hit me up with any questions, I can send you videos of it running.
