Rare 1960s Oahu Prince Parlor. Made IN U.S.A Adjustable Neck. Playable Project
Rare 1960s Oahu Prince Parlor Guitar. Flat top still in good condition with chipboard case. Made in the U.S.A. by Jackson Guldan in Columbus, Ohio. Very unique players/collectors piece. I have had this one some time intending to refinish it and add it to my stash of cool old guitars. Life has decided that it;s not gonna happen so here a chance to get a great deal on a very cool old parlor guitar and great conversation piece. Neck has a propritary bolt system inside the body at bottom of the neck that allows you to raise or lower the angle of the neck using a 3/8 socket or large flat head screwdriver. Bolt turns easy and the system works as designed. The neck has some built in relief that I was going to straighten, just my preferance. The neck is straight but the headstock has a slight angle to the right. Had to be a miscut from the factory. ( see picture of top of headstock ) Does not effect playablity or tuning. Has started many converstions as how its like this..Like I said cool piece that gets people talking.. Guitar was missing bridge when I got it. I just put a lazer cut maple bridge under it a adjusted string spacing to my like. Will ship with the extra bridge if you wish to change it but I recommend buying a adjustable bridge system as this type was original. See last two pictures. The tuners are Kluston and pretty sure this was a ungrade to the original. One tuner peg is bent. Guitar has mostly only finish issuses from 60 years of playing. Lite scratch or two, scuffs, nicks, swirling and some discolorations but no wood damage. No cracks or splitting. No seperations. Perfect for restoration or just adjust setup and start playing. Makes a great slider as well. Selling as a playable project. Chipboard case showing it's age with rusting hardware, scuffs, scratches and popping threads but it is still sound.
