This pair is from my personal collection. Brave Star made these “Golden Handshake” Jeans using the last batch of this legendary Cone Mill denim that was commissioned to the specifications of Levi’s. It’s a truly historical fabric that has all the amazing vintage denim characteristics. It has rich blue, non-nonsense red selvedge, and long staple cotton spun yarns. It will fade beautifully as you wear them.
The entire jeans from fabric to sewing were all done in the USA. Brave Star sewed these with vintage Union Special Machines!
I would have kept this pair for myself if it weren’t for the fact that it had shrunken to be too tight for my liking. I rinsed it with like warm water and removed the starch. Never worn except after trying it on after the rinse.
UPGRADES: I switched out the stock bottons on the fly, with the pre-war era correct (star and Laurel leaf aluminium face, on copper shaft) style 2-prong buttons!! These upgraded premium vintage style buttons are MADE IN JAPAN by YKK! I think this really completed the vibe of this pair of jeans and complemented the fabric very well!
I removed the start stitching on the back pocket for a cleaner look. Left back pocket has a small scuff that reveals some of the white cores of the denim. No holes.
